Dr. Russ Jordan Star
Education I am a 1997 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and spent 3 years of intense classroom study in St. Kitts, West Indies, and then 1 year of clinical rotations at University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. I have practiced in New Jersey, and New York. My professional interests are anesthesiology, senior care and wellness, dentistry, radiology, and internal medicine.
Professional Activities I have been practicing exclusively at the St. James Animal Hospital since 2000. I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians, American Heartworm Society, Long Island Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Medical Association, and the Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia Support Group. I am also the current Vice-President, past Secretary, and past Treasurer of the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association.
I use the Internet every day I am very active on the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), which is an online community of more than 25,000 veterinarians who share information, research, and learn from each other. VIN also allow access to consultations with more than 170 specialists in a variety of fields.
In my spare time I like to... I like to relax, and enjoy time with my family. I live locally with my wife Raffaela, son Brandon, and daughter Tina. Outside of my family, I am an avid SCUBA diver and I also enjoy playing poker.
